Dear Professor Lederberg, Thank you for your letter dated May 13th. I have not been able to find C.Darlington's cerrespondence with you about your article in "Heredity," 2:145-(1948). When Dr.Darlington left this Institute in 1953 to take up his Professorship at Oxford, he took many of his papers with him. These have now been deposited in the Bodleian Library at Oxford. However, we have the catalogue of this collection of Darlington Papers, which has indexes of correspondents, and your name does not appear among them. It is just possible that Professor Darlington's widow, Mrs.Gwendolen Darlington may be able to help. Would you like us to contact her on this subject? She has always been very helpful. Yours sincerely, QD aie (Mrs.R.D.Harvey, Archivist). Professor Joshua Lederberg, The Rockefeller University, New York, 10021.
