1991 FMC January 2, Professor Joshua Lederberg Box 400 The Rockefeller University New York, NY 10021-6399 Dear Professor Lederberg: Thank you for your note of 12/23/90, with a copy of your interesting retrospective review attached. As requested, we are sending, by separate mail, 2 - 10-plate packets of our RepliPlate® colony transfer pads, as well as litera- ture describing FMC BioProducts agaroses and other offer- ings. I've included with this letter a paper that Foner Curtis and I published on our replicating device, as well as the patents covering them. Several years ago, during the early stages of our work, I tried to contact your laboratory to see if you would like to evaluate our prototypes, since you were our inspira- tion, but you were apparently on a sabbatical. We would appreciate hearing any feedback you might have after you evaluate the samples. We have considered producing other sizes and forms, including a bulk pack of just the sterile pads with a separate multiuse handle. Perhaps I can get a chance to visit with you on my next swing south, or maybe you would accept an invitation to visit us here in Maine and give a seminar to our group. All expenses would be paid, and we would provide a suitable honorarium. Thanks for getting in touch. Best regards, and best wishes for a new year filled with continued success, good health, and happiness. Sincerely yours, , cA 7} cae wan } Pf Mt ) fara 3 Donald W.
