As your term as a Member-at-Large of the Defense Science
Board comes to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to
thank you personally for your service. The Board fills an
important role in providing me with independent, objective
advice that greatly assists in our responsibility to assure a
sound defense program. I appreciate the time and effort you
have so generously given to help the Department of Defense in
its mission and am very thankful for it.

Your services as a consultant to the Technological and
Operational Surprise Task Force remain vital, and I look forward
to receiving your continuing support in the challenging days
that lie ahead.
