Lederverg Department of Genetics Stanford University School of Medicine 300 Pasteur Drive Palo Alto, California Dear Josh: The Departments of Genetics and Medical Genetics here expect to move into their new pbuilding next January. It is proposed to mark occupancy of the greatly improved quarters by a dedicatory lecture, planned for a general University audience, and to ve scheduled possibly in March or April. The members of the Genetics Division have voted enthusiastically to invite you to give the lecture. We hope that you will accept. This would be most appropriate and cratifying because of the great impetus your activities here gave to the science on this carpus. The Research Committee of the Graduate School will provide funds for travel and an honorarium. It has expressed its willingness also to consider, later, assistance in publication of the address. The now extensive ramifications of genetics give a speaker wide scope in the choice of a topic for such a lecture. We are confident that you would develop a theme that would help us all in looking ahead. With personal regards to you and Esther, Sincerely yours, ‘\W Cy Wo wan R. A.
