om 4921 Logan Avenue South Minneapolis, Minnesota 551,09 March 13, 1968 Joshua Lederberg Department of Genetics Stanford University School of Medicine Palo Alto, California 9130) Dear Mr. Lederberg: Thank you very much for your informative reply to my letter concerning parthenogenesis. After listening to professors of religion sound off as authorities on what science says cannot happen, it is refreshing to get the truly objective opinion of a man of science. In regard to your question on whether or not Christ belonged to any of the conventional categories of humanity, I can only point ot the fact that none of the prima facie evidence which we have (i.e. the gospels) ever give any whisper of a doubt that Christ was fully human in a biological sense; neither is there any imdication that he was less than male, although the first-century witnesses did not have any of the sophisticated knowledge of sex differentiation that modern ecience has. Further, I do not know of any treatment of the question of Jesus! sex, perhaps because the question has not arisen in theological circles. If I ever find anything on the subject, however, I will make it available to you. Once again, thank you for your reply. Sincerely, VW Meir K tferrral,, William L. Seurrah P.S. The only organization actively engaged in relating science to Christian dogma is the Creation Research Society, made up of a number of Ph.D.'s and M.S.ts. If you would like information on the organization, I can get the address of their secretary for yous
