be willing to write a foreword for a book on oncogenes (see en-
closed contents) which Ed Liu (from Mike Bishop's lab), Kathy
Burck and I have written. Our editor at Springer-Verlag, Dr.
Barbara Goldman, is willing to meet and talk with you if the
actual writing time is a problem.

You and I have spoken several times at the Cetus scientific
meetings where I served in the capacity of scientific leader of
the human monoclonal antibody project and as director of Cetus
Immune.

I certainly enjoyed your "sociological" analysis of your dis-
covery of bacterial sex in the recent Nature.
