AN AFFIRMATION

We endorse Zionism as a movement of Jewish liberation and
cultural renascence, and we affirm our identity with the Zionist movement.
We repudiate attacks upon Zionism which attempt to separate it from authentic
Jewishness, and we regard many of the attacks as manifestations of anti-
Semitism. We accept the Zionist aims of developing the unity of the Jewish
people, the centrality of Israel, and the protection of Jewish rights
everywhere. We seek to strengthen the State of Israel as the embodiment
of the prophetic vision of justice and peace, and to encourage its efforts
for the ingathering of Jewish people who seek to settle there. This Zionist
affirmation incorporates our desire to preserve the identity of the Jewish
people, which, we believe, is served by Jewish education and the fostering

of spiritual and cultural values.
