This is in reply to your recent letter to Secretary of Defense

Robert S. McNamara requesting a copy of his Millsaps College

speech and any other statements he may have made recently relat-

ing to the "technological gap." G
I am enclosing a copy of the Millsaps College speech and also

Mr. McNamara's January 23 statement before the Joint Session of

the Senate Armed Services Committee and Senate Subcommittee on

Department of Defense Appropriations. These texts contain Mr.

McNamara's only substantive public statements relating to the
"technological gap."
