Dear Josh,
Point of information:  P22 "confers" O1 to TM2. Antigen (reactivity to serum) appears ca. 10 minutes after infection, even with virulent phage (cells on way to lysis [?]). Only traces of antigen in lysate and specificity of this in doubt but early appearing wall material quite definate [sic].
Offhand appears as if phage has something built into wall . . perhaps machinery [?] for phage synthesis?
