I send you the enclosed MSS of several chapters of our book on the chance that you may have an idle moment in which to gain an impression of them. I'd be less interested in your comments about the details of what we say than I would in your general assessment, although I would value both. Don't waste your time, and, if you can't get to it by early September, please just send the chapters back to me.

Summer work here has been quite productive and certainly fun. It now seems that I'll be in Japan in October and in Israel, after all, from Nov. to Feb. Thanks so much for standing as a perpetual reference for me.
