Dear Joshua,

First, let me say that Allan and I certainly enjoyed seeing and
talking with you on your visit here.

Thanks very much for the PLT=22 preparation. We plated the orizinal
material on S. typhosa 0901, Ty2 (W), Ty2 (V), and strain A as well as on
S. dublin (agar layer method) « We got about 108 (cloudy) plaques on S. dublin
but were unable to see any plaques on the other strains. I assume that we
will have to look for host range mutants for Vi positive strains.

I wonder could you send xylose, arabinose, and rhammose negative strains
of E. coli and the parent positive strain as Sam Ajl has indicated that he is
interested in pentose metabolism.

I have just about completed the MS and will send this to you shortly.
