Chairman of Microbiology at Oregon State University in

I can maintain a reasonably strong research program

Crown gall is still poorly understood, but with
the discovery that a large plasmid is required for
pathogenesis, © we have something to get our teeth into.
We are now looking for fragments of the plasmid in the
tumor, ‘We have evidence that neither the entire plasmid
nor a significant portion of it is present in tumor cells.
