Thanks for your kind and friendly note.

1 plan to come to New York in the middle of September
and. will stay in Manhattan until the end of October, whereupon | will
return home to the Weizmann Institute.

During my stay in New York ! will occupy the Herman Mark
Chair at the Polytechnic Institute of New York where | worked some
thirty years ago. 1! have undertaken this temporary post because of
my great admiration for Professor Mark, and his outstanding contributions
in planning the academic structure of the Weizmann Institute during the
earliest stages of its development.

Needless to say | shall be delighted to visit you and my good
friends at The Rockefeller University during my stay in New York, and
1 shall call you upon my arrival in the U.S.A.
