Dear Josh,

Tom London and I have completed (for Scientific American) a
review of the work on hepatitis B virus and primary cancer of the
liver, including discussions of pathogenesis and prevention. We
believe that, in due course, primary cancer of the liver will be a é
preventable disease, and this research may have pertinence to other
cancers as well. It's a rather large manuscript, but I've enclosed
a copy in the event that you may want to see it.

The article in Think (re: the student laboratory in New York)
was interesting as well as sentimental and nostalgic.

We plan to be in Stanford again this summer, and I hope we can

meet again.
