Dear Josh:

When I saw Lou Baron in Boston (where we were both stranded by
the hurricane), he told me that you would like David Coahran to stop
in Palo Alto even though he had decided that he was committed to go
to Washington this Fall. I called him the day before he left and
asked him to stop on his way out and to write you in any case. He
said he would write but that he didn't think he could stop on his way
out. I presume he has done one or the other by this time.

I tried to convince him of the importance of this opportunity
but I'm afraid it was a few months too late. I can think of no other
qualified people.

Best of luck on the project. It was very enjoyable becoming
acquainted with you and Esther at Bar Harbor. |
