Dear Josh:

I was delighted to have your recent memorandum, with its
evidence of continuing work on the "bacteria project". I'11
naturally help in whatever way I can. Not being a Renaissance
man like Yehuda, my help will alas be severely limited. My
knowledge of nineteenth century biology is so sketchy that it
would be vain for me to volunteer any expert guidance. However
I will of course cheer the project on.

I look forward to seeing you in Jerusalem in January and,
I hope, in Philadelphia sometime shortly thereafter.
