Dear Josh and Esther,

I'd like you to know how much I enjoyed
staying with you in Madison. It was
especially good to meet Novick and Bob Sachs.

Our research mill is grinding steadily here,
and I am getting around to looking for
specific or preferential effects of presumed
mutagens which would show up as restriction
of the homology pattern. Sounds a little
screwball, doesn't it? .

After several trials I am forced to conclude
that nitrogem mustard produces no lethal
mutations detectable by the heterokaryon
method. I have no explanation for this
fantastic finding, but it is food for
thought.
