Dear Joshua,

I ended my work as Assistant Director General for Science
at Unesco on 31 December 1972. As I think I told you, T have been
working for the last two years on the preparation of a book, which will
be jointly published by Unesco and commercial pubiishers, and I am
sending you the Synopsis under separate cover, by airmails

As I know you have been thinking a lot about problems
concerning the interactions between science, technology and society,
I wondered if you could Let me have your recent writings on the subject,
I think that Michael Lerner once told me that you had surveyed the times
in history when there have been "“anti-science" movements. Also, any
other suggestions, or vaiuable papers, that you can send me would be
welcome. Of course, I have been reading a lot myself and have collected
a great deal of useful information. I hope to be able to come and
discuss these matters with you once the manuscript is finished, that is,
after the end of March,
