Thanks for sending along to Mr.'’Forster some samples of
Joshua Lederberg's columns on "Science and Man." I didn't
know he had branched out into journalism as well as exobiology.

Men of such talent sometimes threaten the emotional
integrity of neurotic newspapermen like myself who lack such
versatility. But I can always blame my shortcomings on my genes,
and thus continue crossing bridges instead of jumping off them,

We appreciate yourinterest in The Press, and thank you
for bringing Dr. Lederberg's column to our attention. I will
check for additional details with my old science-writer friend,
Howard Simons, who is now assistant managing editor of the
