Dear Hanna --
APS has asked me to write a brief memoir on Beadle.
My focus will be on the scientific revolution (not a Kuhnian) he and Tatum wreaked in 1941; but I should include a paragraph or two on his term as president of U/Chi.
As a historian, you will know what I need by way of sources; but I am not (now) writing a detailed biography; so I would welcome even your [mark to note, (or hand this over to your PIO/archivist. If there are any published assessments of that era they would be quite helpful.)] own draft on a non-attribution basis.
