Dear Joshua:

I suggest the following change in your proposed letter to
SCIENCE: Paragraph 2, line 7, delete "we had no knowledge before
now”,

The reason fer this change is ag follows: As the chairman of
the Panel I have had copies of galleys and edited manuscript pages
which the rest of the Panel, 1 suppose, did not receive. Thus, I
cannot say in every Instance that I had no knowledge of changes before
now. Omission of these words does not really change the meaning of
the letter. J may add that I suggested a number of changes and al-
though some were accepted, others were not.

I see also from my correspondence with Phil Handler in
December 1969 that a shortened prepgint of our chapter is to appear
in Saturday Review. I wonder whether our letter to Science should
also go to Saturday Review?
