I have the job of organising a cgenstics symposium for the
Western Society of Naturalists. «-- meetings, which as you no
doubt know, will be at Stenford December 28, 29, and 30. I
would lile to make it a "Recent Advances in Science” symposium,
with papers on bacterial viruses, bacteria, molds, corn,
Drosophila, aad man, Would you be willing to do tse one on
recent. advances in bacterial genetics? I am sure this would
be & very welcome contribution from the standpoint of nombers
of the Societys, Hany of them don't know about the exciting
developments in this field. I hope to get one of Delbriick's
men to do the phage review, Horm for molds, Roman for corn,
‘and Stern for mane Let me know as soon as you can whether you
are willing to do this. I hope very moh the answer will be

I understand you have been invited to cive a general
biology seminar here, I hope you will be able to come, It
would be good fun to talx over old times, and show you how
Kerckhoff looks ten years later.
