Many thanks for your very kind note of
January 2. I keep hoping that I will win the lottery
one day and thus be able to help in a more significant
way basic research at Rockefeller University.

Our event for the New York Bar Foundation
was far and away the best evening that those people
have experienced in the 10 years or so in which we
have been holding an annual dinner meeting in New York
City. I continue to receive comments of great praise
for all aspects of the program, not the least of which
was the very evident compassionate attention given to
one of our friends who had a slight medical decline.

I do thank you very much for having hosted
this for the Foundation and I continue confident that
it will more than pay for the expense and very substantial
effort that all of you put into the event.

Will look forward to catching up with you per-
sonally one day soon.
