I appreciate very much your kind
letter, which came to me through Whitfield Bell a
day or two ago, during the meeting of our Society,
at which notice was taken of my approaching ninetieth
birthday.

I am particularly happy about your
generous rating of my history of the Rockefeller
Institute. I have inserted your letter in the
specially-bound copy of the history which Detlev
Bronk sent me when the book was published. My copy
now contains appreciative letters from the three
Successive presidents of the Rockefeller University,
which makes it a bibliophilic treasure as well as a
historical record.
