Dear Dr. Lederberg:

I just got off the phone with Dr. Nils Nilsson who I

am delighted to say has joined our Scientific Advisory
Board. I understand that Dr. Nilsson, as well as -
Bill Kaufmanmwill be meeting with you the early part _”
of next week. I am hopeful that you too will be wa
joining our Advisory Board.

I think you should know that our Microfiche collec-
tions in Artificial Intelligence are moving along
spectacularly. As a matter of fact, the SDL division
of Comtex is already in the black and we believe that
the entire company will go into the black the quarter
beginning April lst. I should also tell you that

we now have Information Handling Services with®
130-man sales force calling on industry selling the
collections and John Wiley & Sons is handling all
overseas sales. 2

I say all this because my guess is that you want to
be associated with companies that not only provide
worthwhile products and services but are also finan-
cially successful. It appears to me that Comtex has
reached that point. And, needless to say, the

stock options should be of some value within the next
two years.

I will be delighted if I get a call from you early
next week saying you accept.
