To U.S. Nobel laureates in Science:

Enclosed is a copy of a letter just re-
ceived from Senator Gruening. The postponement
gives us more time to prepare adequately.

I hope, therefore, that all of you who
have not yet had the opportunity to respond to
my earlier letter dated July 7 will be able to
do so soon,

So that plans for the hearing can be
made, I would appreciate your letting me know
if you plan to submit a statement. In order to
attempt to set a date on which, hopefully, some
of you might testify in person, could you also
indicate any dates between July 20 and August
15 on which you could attend a hearing in
Washington. I will try to work out the best
date, and inform possible participants as soon
as possible.
