Will be sliowed to take a vacation from ca. Maroh 20 to Sept. 10
1946. Singe I am aiso no longer on active duty in the Navy, this
enables se to endorse my asopptance of your previously tended
suggestion thet I coms to Yale next Spring. The dates I mention
are not rigid, and it may be even somewhat earlier in March that
we will be let off, depending on exam schedules.

' I& will of courses be desirable to mest personally to disouse
this matter; Ryan tells me that ha expects you to be in H.Y,
in not too many weeks however. I hope that a fairly definite
arrangeusnt can be congiuded soon however, to avoid obvious
embarrasement concerning my activity next year. Rittenberg seems
to be begosing faintly interested in the setabolisem of Neurospora
and the bacterial mutants, and something may sVentually turn up
along those lines. &nticipating, for the moment that I will be
at Yale, I am looking forward quite enthusiastically to working
with you, on the basis of your papers, end Ryants information.
