You probably heard from Norman[?] all about the meetings etc.  Afterwards I visited around a little, and found the greatest enthusiasm for Neurospora everywhere!  What's the latest news at Stanford?  Is Barbara McClintock coming?
How about the slides and when do you want them?  I can have duplicates made here or perhaps Reebles can make them better if they've kept the negatives.  I'm planning on using the slides the last of Nov. in Ames.  Whatever you suggest will be O.K.
How's penicillin coming - - Johnson was quite enthusiastic about some you'd sent, but he would very much like to have the Stanford cultures renumbered as they're sent out - - He says nobody can get to know the cultures by such long numbers!  Also, the Wis group can't understand how our screening picked the cultures out in the first

place!  He (M.J.J.) was going to write to get complete details of cultural methods used for original tests.
I just had a letter from Werkman at Ames asking whether one or both of us would write a review for Advances in Enzymology MS due Sept 1-1945.  I answered that I'd get your reaction, but that it might be best to postpone it because of the Ann. Rev. Bioch review, and since you're doing one for Physical Revs - - Is that right?
I've just about gotten settled here--St. Louis isn't so bad - - Have found a furnished house so we're all fixed - - or will be as soon as June and the girls can come down from Wisconsin.
Lindegren is all steamed up about yeast - - and they do have some fine stuff on adaptive enzymes!  Also he's very curious about the correlation, if any (?) between x-ray and U.V. mutants in Neur. and adaptation and/or reversion - -
