respective Nobel lectures. 1! am certainly counting on you and Ed to lay the
groundwork of biochemical genetics on which my own studies have been built.

t would foresee that my own account would be a review of mechanisms of recom
bination In bacterla comparable to the one | published for the Oak Ridge
Symposium In 1955, but brought up to date and simplified of course.

Actually {'m trying to see if it would be feasible for me to postpone my
own lecture until later on next spring since | anticipate returning to Stockholm
anyhow. 1 don't know how | will cope with the situation if it turns out |! have
to have a finished manuscript by the time of the ceremony next month.
