BRITISH SOCIETY FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN SCIENCE MEETING ON THE SOCIAL IMPACT OF MODERN BIOLOGY Invitation to Speaker The BSSRS (and we have asked British Pugwash if they would be co-sponsor) is planning a meeting on the Social Impact of Modern Biology. This would not only deal fairly thoroughly with the scientific aspects (in perticular with molecular genetics) but would also try to put these in a wide perspective. Dates proposed are October 15th, 16th, 17th or December 2rd, 4th, Sth as second choice, and September 24th, 25th, 26th or the spring of 1971 as low- priority third choice. This is to ask if you could come to the meeting and give a talk and if you would let us know by the 20th April a7 APR 27 1979 (in time for our next planning meeting). Travel and subsistence funds should be available. A manuscript is required because we feel the write-up will heve more impact than the meeting itself. Notes on the meeting are enclosed. It would be most heipful if you could let us know whether you can come, giving, in order of preference, which of the dates you could manage. Reply to : M.H.F.
