In the publication of "This Month-in Washington" (No. 88, January
1965) published by the American Hospital Association, there is
“ mentioned the role of the community hospital in diagnosis and

   

treatment stations to be established in the nation.

Stevens Memorial Hospital is located in the Northwest corner of
the United States and serves a population of approximately 80,000
people. It is a District Hospital which derives a portion of its
operating revenue from a small local tax levy. The hospital has
been in operation for one year and is beginning to become the hub
of the medical work in this community.

I would like to gather information concerning the pilot projects

in community hospitals throughout the nation. I feel that only in
this way can we really serve the community in which we are located.
