BACKGROUND The National Library of Medicine is organizing a conference to commerorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Regional Medical Programs Division at the National Institutes of Health in December, 1966. The conference will help to record the history of this innovative program and will also provide an opportunity to apply lessons learned from the RMP experience to contemporary health care problems.
