BACKGROUND

The National Library of Medicine is organizing
a conference to commerorate the twenty-fifth
anniversary of the establishment of the
Regional Medical Programs Division at the
National Institutes of Health in December,
1966. The conference will help to record the
history of this innovative program and will also
provide an opportunity to apply lessons
learned from the RMP experience to
contemporary health care problems.

The conference will address these issues via
panets of speakers and audiovisual
presentations rather than through formal
papers. Among those who have agreed to
participate in the meeting are. . .

Aconference reception, sponsored by the
Friends of the National Library of Medicine,
will be held in the lobby of the Lister Hill
Building at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday,
