My dear Mary:
It was mighty good of you to write me from California and send me the story about the Lister Hill Center in the NIH publication.
May I say that no one inspired me more or helped me more than you did when I was working for the health of our people and for all people. I sometimes wonder if you realize the great work that you have done. You have been a tremendous inspiration to me, and my only regret is that we are not still working together. As you know, I am now 81 years old and Henrietta is not in good condition with this Parkinson disease.
I do hope you enjoyed your visit to California this year and that I will have the pleasure of seeing you before too long.
If there is anything I can do for you at any time please be sure and let me know.
