Dear Fred:
I am writing you a letter because even if I see you shortly I may not remember the question.
I found an item in my notes to the effect that you had to go over the head of WAS directly to RBF to get the appropriation for the eradication of gambiae in Brazil.
Was WAS skeptical about the result or did he think you were asking for too much money?  I didn't think he disbelieved in the campaign, nor did I think that WAS lacked courage.  Perhaps you can clear this up in a few words.
Perhaps I'll see you in Boston and have some more questions for you about jaundice following vaccination.  This seems to have occurred in Brazil long before anything happened elsewhere, but WAS thought it could be explained away.
I'll be in Washington arriving November 10th and staying over the next day, which I think is a holiday, hoping to see some galleries and a little more of Washington than I've ever been able to do before.
