I acknowledge with apologies for the delay your letter of January 15, 1943 which has just come to my attention upon my return to Algiers.
I thoroughly agree with the recommendations made, and I shall be delighted to support to the best of my ability the issuance of instructions by our Government which would permit two or three members of the Rockefeller Foundation staff to proceed to Algiers after your return to the United States.
I take this occasion to congratulate you both on the excellent work you have done during your brief stay in this area, faced as you were with every possible material difficulty.
