October 27, 1955 Dear Mrs. Singer: Thank you very much for your letter of October 21 concerning the possibility of spending a year in this laboratory as a post-doctoral fellow. I shall be happy to consider your application. The uncertainty in your plans doesn't present any complications, although it was nice of you to tell me about this. I'd be delighted to see you early in December, and there is no need to send a resume of your qualifications and education before then. It will be necessary for us to have the information indicated on the enclosed forms. Also, I should like to write to Dr. Fruton, and anyone else whom you might suggest, for a letter of reference. I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks and hearing about your work. Also, Mr. Hilmoe and I would like to tell you what we are doing. Sincerely yours, Leon A. Heppel
