I'm sorry to be so long in answering your letter of July 29th. As you will see from the return address, I am presently on sabbatical leave in Israel and it takes a while
for the mail to catch up with me.
Thank you for your interest in the work in my laboratory. Unfortunately, matters are quite unsettled now with regard to the situation upon mv return in the fall of 1972, particularly because I am uncertain as to the line of research I shall pursue. The decision will depend somewhat on the experience of this year. Furthermore, the availability of space and money will depend somewhat on the success of the present post-doctoral fellows in the uncertain job market.
If, under these conditions, you are still interested in being considered, I would be happy to do so. Please then request Professor Shapiro to send a letter of recommendation to me here in Israel. I will then contact you as soon as there is additional information.
Please extend my regards to Professor Shapiro who I had the pleasure of meeting this summer at a Gordon Research Conference.
