Dear Mr. Warren:
I thank you and Mr. Keene for your letter of December 29, 1976, and the invitation to participate in the proposed hearing on the public health and safety implications of public and private recombinant DNA research in California.  I will be most happy to come and discuss the NIH guidelines with you.
Since receiving your letter I have talked with Mr. Jones of your office and Mr. Wagstaff of Mr. Keen's office.  According to the arrangements that I have made with them, I will appear at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 1977.  I will be prepared to discuss the nature of the guidelines and to answer any questions.
