Dear Mary,
There was a luncheon at the Institute yesterday for a society woman and her daughter who wanted to see the Institute.  Just a small one of 12.  Dr. Flexner has these special luncheons in inviting different members of the staff and they are quite fun.  The society lady was too demonstrative to suit my taste but today we had Madame Boveri the widow of a very distinguished German scientist for a luncheon.  She was fine.
Mrs. Flexner came this morning and we showed our work to the two of them in spite of the fact that we were carrying on a fine experiment the best of our whole series.  We can imagine how we have worked in the intervals between guests and in fact carried on all the time and I fitted in when possible.
I will have to tell you all about the work when you come.  Just now we are quite excited about it.
Doan and I are going to take a walk in the park to blow off steam.
