Dec 20, 1978 Dear Dan: I've been meaning to write long before to tell you how delighted and excited we all were when we heard about the Nobel Prize. I went around boasting about how you spent (6 weeks?) in my lab in your senior year. -- But as I recall you needed little or no advice as to problem on how to proceed. Ed Hunter dug up this program of their[?] Senior Research program -- which I enclose in case you [END PAGE ONE] [BEGIN PAGE TWO] have any sentimental memories of some. Someone told me you even mentioned this brief period with us as having some effect on your career -- I really doubt it -- you already had the urge and the proper instincts -- I'm still plugging along -- actually quite excited about our current research -- the new Dept head -- Phil Weedleman is really great -- and shows no signs of wanting me to quit -- so I shall continue as long as the grey cells hold out -- With best wishes and congratulations Ollie --
