Your courtesy in writing me about the proposal for changing the name of the Department of Microbiology is much appreciated. It is a sign of evolution, if not revolution, and it is proper to try to reflect function.
I remind you that I was responsible for the change of name from Bacteriology to Microbiology, which made some persons frown.
