April 22, 1955 Dear Bob: This MS came from Jacob, with request that it be forwarded to you. When you have studied it, I should like to have it back, maybe at the time of my visit in May. I am wondering if the situation is really similar in T2 and in lambda. The most critical thing might be to look for heterozygotes at various times after mixed infection with UV T2, both with active and inactive and with multiplicity reactivation, If all UV effect is an initial one (as in lambda), since T2 has many rounds of matings the het should only be more frequently early, not in late yields. If on the contrary, multiplicity reactivation is due to the fact of repeated matings, then you may find high values of het throughout the latent period. Many of the experiments by Jacob are worth repeating with T2. Looking forward to my visit next month. Sincerely yours, S. E. Luria
