Dear Doctor Franklin:
At last I have managed to package a sample of an iodo-TMV preparation for you, before it got used up for any other purposes.  To reward your patience, I am also sending you a very new derivative, containing methylmercuric residues attached to the -SH groups.  This preparation has not yet been described.  [Rho]-Chloromercuribenzoate does not react with the virus.
I hope these preps will arrive safely and not dehydrated, and that they will prove of interest to you.
