Dear Phil:
Dick Nichols sent me a copy of the Times story on your patent.  Having seen the little beasts in your lab on my last visit, it was no surprise, but the fact that the patent was issued, was.  It seems like a very reasonable and important thing for the Patent Office to have done.
I just want to wish you the very best of luck with the next stages of your work. I might ask you one favor:  should you ever get around to humans, those of us who live in Baltimore would be very grateful if you could do something about developing individuals that could bolster our local Oriole baseball team and get it out of the cellar.
