The Middlesex Medical Society consists of all those members of the Massachusetts Medical Society who reside in Lowell, Billerica, Ashby, Townsend, Pepperell, Dunsta- ble, Groton, Shirley, Tyngsboro', Chelmsford, Carlisle, Lit- tleton, Dractitt, Tewksbury, Concord and Acton. This Society was formed in 1844 in pursuance of an Act of the Legislature passed March 1803, authorising the Mas- sachusetts Medical Society to establish district or subordinate associations, with power to hold meetings, make by-laws, and possess apparatus,
