The New England Cremation Society. This society is incorporated for the purpose of providing the neces- sary appliances and facilities for carrying cremation into operation, and therewith cremating the bodies of the dead. It has power to acquire the necessary land, works, buildings, etc., as well as to do all other acts, such as are essential to the carrying out of its objects. The capital stock of the society is $25,000, distributed into 2,500 shares, each of the par value of ten dollars. The conditions upon which subscriptions will be received are that ten per centum of the par value of each share shall be paid at the time of subscribing, and that an agreement be entered into to pay the balance at such time or times as the same may be called for by the council of the society, it being understood that no such call or demand shall be made until the whole of the capital stock shall have been subscribed. A subscription book is now open at No. G1 Court street, Boston (Room 6), where the names of subscribers will be received by the finan- cial secretary. It is hoped that intending subscribers will enter their names as soon as possible, so that the work of providing the necessary appliances for carrying into effect the objects of the society may not be delayed.
