You are requested to preserve this Pamphlet, and srive the information to your friends, that Cancerous diseases and Tumors ran be cured without the use of the knife, and with but little, if any pain. Elkton, Oregon, Oct. 16, 1858. I, the subscriber, have been afflicted with cancer on the right side of the face, for the past three years, and employed many so-called cancer-doctors, which caused a great amount of suffering for many months, without affording any relief. At this stage of the disease, I heard of, and employed, Dr. Blake, who perfectly destroyed the life of the cancer in fifty minutes. It was all out and soundly healed in three weeks. The application was attended with little or no pain. I would advise all physicians to become acquainted with Dr. B.'s mode of treating this most fearful of all diseases, as it is, in my opinion, the only treatment which any conscien- tious physician would recommend after becoming acquainted with it. The Dr. also gave me constitutional treatment which appeared to cleanse my blood from cancerous humor, and re- stored me to good health. During the above three weeks I conversed with many ot Dr. B.'s patients, all of whom were doing well, and seemed much pleased with him in all respects. Gideon Langdor. CANCERS CURED WITHOUT THE USE OF THE KNIFE. BY 1 G. T. BLAKE, M.D., 575 BROADWAY, *{, Y. PLEASE READ AND HAND TO YOUR NEIGHBOR, m PRINTED FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION. NEW-YOKK: J. J REED, PRINTER, 43 CENTRE STREET 1858 READ AND CONSIDER. The following pages are devoted to the testimony of those who have availed themselves of my treatment of Cancer. Any treatment of disease that claims to be in advance_of what is known to the profession, however clearly on scientific principles, or uniformly commended by its power to heal, is sure to meet with op- position. In the treatment of Cancer this is the more to be expected, inasmuch as Cancer has been the opprobrium of the profession. By physicians, the world over, it has for the most part been regarded as incurable. If this is not so, why the conviction universally per- vading the public mind, that all ordinary means to arrest it are impotent ? No better evidence of this fact can be adduced than that the an- nouncement to a patient, that the disease is Cancer, alway sand in- evitably shocks to depression the nervous system. Thesurgeon'sknife that promised to be the forlorn hope at least, has demonstrated itself from years of trial so incompetent to. cure that no one now expects, from its use, any thing more than a respite from an impending doom, and hence it is turned from with mingled dread and despair. Appropriate indeed is the language of Dr. G-ood, to the treatment of this most terrible disease, " The practise is melancholy from the first. The die is cast, almost if not altogether irrecoverably; and all we can hope to accomplish is to postpone the fatal result; to mitigate the sufferings of to-day, and suften the passage of the tomb." To those afflicted with Cancer, I have more encouragement to give. By a perusal of the following pages, they will see, I claim to have discovered a remedy for the disease, that the cures effected by it have been thorough; no return of the Cancer having ever been known. Having proved it by twelve years of trial, I commend it with con- fidence to the suffering. It was with the urgent solicitation of my friends, and many neighboring physicians that I consented to publish this pamphlet, and give the public information in relation to the remedy. Those who have witnessed its application—physicians, clergymen, and friends, are united in their testimony that it is truly a wonder- ful remedy. Judging testimonials of character worth most, from those who know me best; I have referred to individuals among whom I have lived, who know my life as an individual and physi- cian, as well as the reputation I have acquired forcuving Cancer, for many years past. The slight pain—and in many cases none—which it pro- duces. The majority of my operations are attended with no pain at all, only a slightly warm sensation, which is compared by most of my patients to the heat of the sun on a warm summer's day. 2d. The Rapidity of its Operation. The time occupied in my individual operation varies from fifteen to sixty minutes—the pa- tient generally conversing as usual. I have destroyed many Can- cers of over an inch in depth in fifty, and in one instance in twenty- five minutes. This is one of the best features of my remedy, for it is on account of the slowness of their operation that most of the so-called Cancer remedies fail to produce the desired effect. Cancers if cured at all, must be cured quickly: by so doing that slow ant. fatal irritation is avoided which attends the application of all the Cancer remedies used by others. Slowness of operation and severity of pain have been, and still are, the principal objections made by the faculty against the so-called remedies , fortunately mine ia not guilty of either. CANi2R CURED WITHOUT THE KNIFE. 3 3d. The Time occupied in Healing. This varies from three tc ten weeks, according to the health and age of the patient, and the size of the Cancer. 4th. The amount of Discharge Produced. This commences in a few days after the operation, and continues abundant until the can- cerous degeneration is wholly removed. 5 th. The slight surrounding Inflammation and Swelling which it produces. This is hardly perceptible. There is just enough to produce a sufficient discharge and healthy granulation. The inflam- mation and swelling produced by most Cancer remedies, causes more pain and suffering, if possible, than the first application. 6th. There is no Danger from taking cold. The patient can generally pursue his usual business during the cure, and is as free from pain and suffering in a few minutes after the operation as before. 7th. There is no Draught upon the Constitution, and no Shock to the Nervous System. The pulse of the patient is not even quickened during the operation. My patients often improve much in health and spirits before the healing process is completed. In all cases where it is necessary, I give medicine to cleanse the blood and eradicate the Cancerous poison from the system. I consider this of the greatest importance in many cases. 8th. The Completeness of the Cure. No Cancer cured by this remedy has been known to return. 9th. This remedy is purely vegetable, and contains no poisonous principles whatever. 10th. Its operation is not confined to Cancers. I remove wens, moles, birth marks, tumors of various kinds, and other similar difficulties, with but little pain, and in many instances the pain is so slight that the operation is performed without the knowledge of the patient. After taking the above advantages of my remedy into considera- tion, I think no one will have any hesitation in saying, that it is truly one of the most remarkable discoveries of the age, and will be, if properly used, the great and only Cancer Remedy of the world. A friend of mine, Mr. Wm. J. Buck, New York City, on return- ing from an operation which he had witnessed, said to me, " The truth in relation to your remedy and its operation, is too much to 4 CANCER CURED WITHOUT rilE KNIFE. tell. It is a remedy of inestimable value, and should be made known to the world." So all have said who have witnessed it
