This preparation is probably the most valuable of the solutions of 
iron. Free from disagreeable taste, having no injurious action on the 
teeth, stomach or bowels, it is suited to cases where other forms of iron 
are not tolerated. It is also an antidote for arsenical poisoning.

Dialyzed Iron. (Glycerated.) 
The therapeutical merits of Dialyzed Iron, and its superiority over 
all other ferruginous preparations, are now universally admitted. It, how- 
ever, has the disadvantage of great liability to congeal under exposure 
to low degrees of temperature, thus rendering its transportation during 
the winter months very hazardous and unprofitable. To overcome this 
difficulty, we have been induced to issue a preparation of this article, 
known as our Glycerated Dialyzed Iron, which is a solution of the 
peroxide of iron, rendered perfectly pure and neutral by careful dialysis 
with distilled water, and united with a small percentage of chemically 
pure glycerine, which prevents it from congealing, and "permits its ship- 
ment in any weather with perfect safety. It is also more permanent, as 
it will not gelatinize or mold. 
The dose of this preparation is the same as of the ordinary dialyzed 
iron, viz.: from 5 to 30 drops, containing five per cent of peroxide of 
iron. The slight additional cost of this article will not, we think, he 
considered an objection, as the dispenser obtains a permanent, and the 
consumer a more palatable preparation than that prepared by the old 
method.

remedies is now so well established that further allusion to the subject 
is rendered unnecessary. We desire, however, to state that, having 
introduced these drugs, we are sure that our stock is genuine. That

The increasing demand for medicines 
to be dispensed in Gelatine Capsules, 
suggested the necessity of some less tedi- 
ous and troublesome method than filling 
the Capsules by hand, which was so slow 
that customers frequently lost all patience 
in waiting for their prescriptions. 
The machine here offered has been in 
constant use by the inventor for eight 
months, and its utility has been fully 
demonstrated. It is not liable to get out 
of order, is simple and easily operated, 
leaving little to be desired; and it is 
hoped that other dispensers may find it 
convenient and useful—a time and labor- 
saver worth many times its cost. 
A much larger quantity of medicine 
can be packed in a Capsule of given size 
than by hand, because the cap and base 
are both filled, and the machine enables 
the Capsule to sustain considerable pres- 
sure, thus allowing the particles of pow- 
der to be forced into closer contact, and 
consequently occupy much smaller space.

tive idea of the capacity of the different

or 10 drops of Nitrite of Amyl, packed in cottonwool, in boxes of 1 doz.

and on the approach of the malady may crush a pearl in his handker- 
chief, and by inhaling the gas find prompt relief. It almost instantly 
increases the action of the heart, and affords great relief in angina 
pectoris, spasmodic asthma, epilepsy, syncope, etc.
