ALLEGED SHIPMENT : Oil or about June 1,1951, from Tifton, Ga. PRODUCT: 480 bags, each containing 120 pounds, of shelled peanuts at Detroit, Mich. NATURE OF CHARGE: Adulteration, Section 402 (a) (3), the product consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance by reason of the presence of insects. The product was adulterated while held for sale after shipment in interstate commerce. DISPOSITION : July 17, 1951; amended August 16, 1951. Tifton Seed Shellers, Inc., claimant, having consented to the entry of a decree, judgment of con- demnation was entered and the court ordered that the product be released under bond for segregation and bringing it into compliance with the law, under the supervision of the Food and Drug Administration. Objectionable material totaling 650 pounds was eliminated by blowing, sifting, and picking, and was destroyed.
