PRODUCT: 20 cartons, each containing 24 1-pound packages, of dried figs at Washington, D. C. LABEL IN PART: "Clara-Val Large Black Mission Figs * * * Packed by Clara Val Packing Co. Morgan Hill, Calif." VIOLATIONS CHARGED: Adulteration, Section 402 (a)(3), the article consisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance by reason of the presence of rodent excreta, rodent hairs, and insect fragments; and, Section 402 (a) (4), it had been prepared under insanitary conditions whereby it may have been con- taminated with filth. DISPOSITION : August 21, 1945. No claimant having appeared, judgment of con- demnation was entered and the product was ordered delivered to the National Zoological Park, Washington, D. C, for use as animal feed.
